Freighted Still Life
The concept is the morning rituals. I think drinking coffee in the morning has become a ritual for many people, including me. It's a way to kickstart the day as it provides a temporary energy boost and improves mental alertness. So, enjoying a cup of coffee in the morning can be a simple and enjoyable way to start the day.
My progress was to study the cup first and then develop further the composition and the background.

In the final piece, I got the idea of incorporating the landscape while I was sitting in the car and trying to memorize that view. Using the atmospheric perspective, the goal is to achieve the illusion of deep space produced by lightening values, softening details, and textures, reducing value contrasts, and neutralizing colors objects as they recede. Hopefully, the softness throughout the piece gives you a sense of nostalgia about some trips in the past.
